Publisher and scope
The Trend Monitor is operated and published by Goods Rush LLC, Seattle, WA, United States. Goods Rush LLC is responsible for the publication’s information practices described here. For questions or requests, email contact@thetrendmonitor.com.
This notice covers thetrendmonitor.com, its www address, and the publication’s hosted site. The site covers Finance, Travel, Explainers, Reviews, and Deals. It has no reader account database, public comments, newsletter signup, or checkout. Publisher sign-in and editing tools are restricted separately. This notice describes current practices; external merchants, advertising partners, email services, and hosting providers have their own notices and responsibilities.
Your privacy and cookie choices
A horizontal banner appears when a current choice has not been saved in your browser. Select Reject optional to keep all optional measurement and Google advertising off, Accept optional to allow the available purposes, or Manage choices to open a popup with Essential, Performance & analytics, and Advertising cookies & data use categories. Performance & analytics lets you choose anonymous site measurement, Google Analytics cookies when available, and Amplitude analytics & session replay separately. Amplitude is optional and is not enabled by a previous Google Analytics choice. Essential functions stay on; advertising data use is optional. Optional controls are not preselected. Simply reading, scrolling, or following the privacy-policy link does not grant permission.
Use Privacy & cookie settings near the footer at any time to open the same settings popup and save different choices. The footer reports your saved On or Off choices. Saved advertising permission is separate from whether partner consent currently permits ad requests; the popup explains that status. Closing the popup or pressing Escape does not save an edited choice. Choices are associated with this browser, rather than an identified reader, and are respected for up to 180 days. A new notice version, expired choice, cleared storage, or a different browser can cause the banner to appear again. If choices cannot be saved, optional services remain off.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals override local permission and keep optional site totals, Google Analytics, Amplitude analytics and session replay, and Google advertising off. These signals do not prevent essential page delivery or security processing. Where Google advertising is allowed, applicable consent and opt-out signals must also permit an ad request. Accepting this banner does not override a refusal in Google’s consent message.
The popup includes a Do not sell or share my personal information control that turns off advertising cookies and data use for this site while keeping your saved analytics choice. When the consent service is loaded, the same popup provides advertising partner consent and sale/sharing settings. These partner settings may open the provider’s own message. Rejecting optional advertising prevents future Google ad requests from this publication. Turning off a previously loaded Google service or Amplitude reloads the page to stop it. Amplitude event collection and replay are also stopped when its permission is withdrawn. Withdrawal does not erase previous processing or existing third-party cookies; you can remove cookies through your browser and use the relevant provider’s privacy controls.
Information, sources, and purposes
Information comes from your requests to the site, choices and interactions you allow, correspondence you send us, verified publisher sign-in, and publication materials. The following describes each main use.
Site search uses your query to find published stories. Search terms appear in the requested URL and may appear in browser history or hosting request diagnostics. The publication does not store a separate search-history profile, and our custom anonymous-total and Google Analytics events omit URL query strings. If you separately allow Amplitude, its automatic page measurement can include page URLs, query strings, titles, and referring URLs. Avoid putting personal or sensitive information in search queries. Topic browsing and the on-site weekly digest do not create an email subscription; RSS is available without giving us an email address.

Anonymous totals are approximate actions, not unique people or completed purchases. Requests to collect a total still require ordinary network processing. An IP-derived value can be held briefly in server memory to limit abusive requests; it is not saved with the totals. Optional Google Analytics is available with your explicit permission. It will load only with a current explicit analytics choice. Our custom Google Analytics events omit personal information and URL query strings, but Google can receive the technical information involved in a request. The separate Amplitude choice permits automatic interaction measurement and session replay; it can use a persistent device identifier and is not the anonymous-total service. Calculator values and results are blocked from replay and masked in automatic interaction properties. Calculations remain local to your page.
Where European or UK data-protection law applies, optional measurement and advertising rely on consent. Essential delivery, security, publisher administration, and necessary correspondence are used to operate and protect the publication or respond to your requests; applicable lawful bases can include legitimate interests and legal obligations. We do not use reader information to make automated decisions about employment, credit, insurance, or other similarly significant outcomes. Advertising providers describe their own processing in their notices and consent disclosures.
Cookies and similar storage
Browser local storage is different from a cookie, but both can remember information on a device. Essential hosting or authentication storage supports security and requested sessions. The publication remembers requested display and privacy choices. Selecting Save for later stores a story’s public title, slug, section and save time in this browser only, with a maximum of 50 stories. The reading list is not sent to a publication database and creates no reader identifier. You can remove entries or clear the list on the Saved stories page. Reading-list contents and controls are blocked from Amplitude replay. Optional Google and Amplitude storage is controlled separately.

Amplitude processes publication reader data on our behalf; contact the publication about that data. Blocking storage can prevent preferences from being remembered or publisher sign-in from working. The optional anonymous-total service does not set a reader-identification cookie. This banner records permission locally; Google’s consent provider maintains its separate consent record.
Google advertising, sale or sharing, and affiliate links
The site supports Google AdSense Auto ads and responsive horizontal display placements. We request nonpersonalized ads only. Nonpersonalized ads can still involve cookies and technical information for delivery, fraud prevention, and measurement. Before its ad loader runs, you must allow advertising here, and the applicable Google consent and US opt-out signals must permit it. Missing, rejected, or unavailable signals keep Google advertising off.
Google’s Privacy & messaging service presents the applicable European consent or supported US state opt-out controls. Its message identifies the relevant vendors and their purposes. Google and third-party vendors use advertising cookies that can support ads based on visits to this or other websites; our nonpersonalized request does not authorize personalized advertising. Learn how Google uses information from partner sites, and manage Google’s broader advertising preferences at My Ad Center. Some industry vendors provide choices through YourAdChoices. These external choices do not replace this site’s reject option or its Google consent controls.
We do not offer a reader contact-list database for sale or collect reader details for cash sales. Disclosure to advertising partners can nevertheless be treated as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under some privacy laws, depending on the actual processing. You can keep that optional disclosure off using Reject optional, the advertising purpose control, the Do not sell or share control, or a recognized Global Privacy Control signal. We do not intentionally solicit precise location, health information, or other sensitive data for advertising.
Affiliate links can contain parameters that attribute a visit or purchase to the publication and can earn Goods Rush LLC a commission. Following a link takes you to a merchant or affiliate network that may receive your IP address, browser information, referring information, and tracking parameters, and may set its own cookies. This site’s choices do not control the destination’s processing. The publication does not receive your merchant password or payment-card details. See our affiliate disclosure. Source links and externally hosted images likewise involve the destination or image provider’s own requests and privacy practices.
Recipients, service providers, and international processing
The public reading site is hosted through ChatGPT Sites with Cloudflare infrastructure, database storage, and media storage. These services handle page delivery, security, authenticated access, publication records, and operational diagnostics. See OpenAI’s privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Google and its disclosed advertising partners handle optional services when permitted. Amplitude processes optional performance analytics and session replay for the publication only after the separate Amplitude choice is enabled. Its privacy notice explains Amplitude’s own business practices; reader data submitted by this publication is governed by this notice and our arrangements with Amplitude. Merchants, affiliate networks, and external-image providers handle the requests made to them.
Published articles, public bylines, credited sources, and published images are visible to readers. Drafts and draft-only uploaded images are restricted to the authorized publisher. Private administration does not receive or store a ChatGPT password. We may disclose information when needed to comply with an applicable legal obligation or valid legal process, protect the publication and people from abuse, or manage a lawful business transition, subject to applicable privacy requirements.
We operate in the United States. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose privacy laws differ from yours. Their privacy notices describe their locations, transfer arrangements, and account controls. You can contact us for questions about information handled for the publication; requests about a provider’s independently managed account can also be made to that provider.
Retention and security
Optional daily totals are subject to a 120-day retention cleanup during collection. Older rows are removed in bounded batches as collection runs, so deletion is not immediate on day 120 and may be delayed while collection is inactive. A rate-limit record expires from use after about one minute and is cleaned during later requests or when server memory resets.
Publication articles, revisions, images, and owner authorization persist until removed through administration; unpublishing retains a draft, and unpublishing alone does not delete an uploaded file. Recovery backups can retain dated copies and are restricted to the publisher. They exclude reader analytics totals, account secrets, and private authentication records. Correspondence and privacy-request records are retained as needed to resolve the matter and meet applicable recordkeeping or dispute obligations. Amplitude analytics and replay retention follow the project’s account settings and provider arrangements; we do not assert a fixed retention period that has not been verified in that account. You may contact us to request access or deletion where applicable. Hosting, email, and Google records follow their own retention arrangements; the publication does not set a single retention period for all provider data.
We use HTTPS and restrict publisher tools and unpublished material to authorized access. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please do not email passwords, payment details, government identifiers, or sensitive medical information. Retention and security practices must be reviewed as the publication’s services change.
Privacy rights and requests
Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to know or access personal information, receive a portable copy, correct or delete information, withdraw consent, object to or restrict processing, opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, and limit certain uses of sensitive information. These rights can have lawful exceptions. We do not require you to waive privacy rights to read the publication and do not penalize you for exercising applicable rights.
Email contact@thetrendmonitor.com with the subject “Privacy request,” your request, and enough context to identify the information involved. You may use an authorized agent where permitted. We may ask for proportionate verification or evidence of authorization for requests involving personal records; browser advertising opt-outs do not require a reader account. We will explain any applicable exception or inability to locate a record and respond within the periods required by applicable law. Anonymous totals do not identify a specific reader, so we may be unable to isolate an individual’s contribution.
If a request is denied and applicable law provides an appeal, reply with “Privacy appeal” and the relevant details. You may also complain to your applicable privacy regulator. California readers can find rights information from the California Attorney General; UK readers can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office; European readers may contact their national data-protection authority. The applicability of particular laws depends on the business, processing, and jurisdiction, rather than a label in this notice.
Children and sensitive information
This is a general-audience publication, not a service directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and address it under applicable requirements. We do not provide high-impact automated eligibility decisions or request sensitive information as a condition of reading.
